Rice Military is named after the famous Rice family. The Rice family included William Marsh Rice who was the original founder of Rice University. The term “Military” references the bordering neighborhood of what once was Camp Logan. Rice military is an area full of history, yet is close to the downtown nightlife, so many young professionals and older couples flock to the area to take advantage of the spacious townhomes and low property taxes.
Rice military is situated within the 610 Loop a long Washington Avenue, I — 10 on the north, Memorial drive on the south, Montrose drive on the east, and Wescott Street on the west.
